Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known for her highly laudable performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The film Piano won her several awards, among them an Oscar. In her early years her acclaimed actress started playing on stage for a number of Broadway or Off-Broadway productions. The art of acting has been a constant obsession. In fifth grade, she was cast as Helen Keller in an original production. Her mumps left her deaf and blind in one ear. But she refused to let that to stop her from becoming an actress. The college she attended was drama after which she moved to Pittsburgh to New York City to follow her dream. She ran into Beth Henley in an elevator and the pair collaborated to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart, Hunter's first film. When she moved to Los Angeles, she began to look for film roles. Her first film role was in the role of an actress playing the leading character Swing Shift. Her work spans over 30 years, and she's been featured in a variety of TV films as well as series and films. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actress and won Women in Film Lucy Award.
